Jesse came home from school around 12:30 and said he wanted to "do something" or "go somewhere", so after a couple of hours of trying to make a decision, we settled on a day trip to Salmon. By the time we got everything loaded it was after 3:00 PM. Jesse had told me it was a 2 1/2 hour drive, which I thought was kind of a lot for a "day trip", especially when we weren't leaving until 3 PM! But, whatever! I was just excited to get out of the house.
We stopped off the highway and did a little target shooting on our way. I hadn't been shooting for quite some time, but didn't do too bad (except for dropping Jesse's "Super Gun")...oops! Jesse did great, as always.
We finally got to Salmon around 6:30 PM and got some dinner at Subway. I thought we were staying in Salmon to do some site seeing, but once again, I was wrong! Jesse had intended on driving even further up the North Fork of the Salmon River. (We had both been white water rafting down the river with the school a few years back...at different times.) At first, I was not too excited because I knew we still had to go all the way back to Rexburg that night, but it ended up being worth it. We drove, stopped, looked, took pictures, went potty, drove, stopped, looked, took pictures, went potty....etc. until it was too dark to see.
We did see deer (both mule and white tail), but didn't get a picture of them.
It was a long trip home. I drove back to Salmon where we gassed up a little after 10:30 PM. I think we ended up getting home around 1:30 AM...thankfully without hitting any of the "big game". Fun trip!

That is fun to do a random trip! Hopefully you aren't too tired today!
ReplyDeleteIt was the 12th...so a couple weekends ago. I was exhausted the next day, because Kloe had slept from the time we left (10:30) and woke up at 7:30. That left me with 5 hours of sleep. I need 9!
