what we've been up to...

I've been a blog slacker lately. (which doesn't mean I haven't been a blog stalker)
I don't have any new exciting news or any great stories or pictures. Yet.
It's been almost four months since we moved to Paul and we love every single thing about our house, our community, our ward and the location. I am convinced this we live in the greatest place on earth. However, I will admit I am a bit anxious for spring because our back yard is the bomb. We tilled and planted some early crops this past weekend and I'm hoping they don't freeze in the next few days. I'm so excited to have a garden, and a place to get out without having to drive to a park. Besides, I feel a tid smidge more self-reliant. :)
Jesse has been working crazy hours at the hospital. His shift begins at 6:30 AM and is supposed to end at 3:00 PM. But, there is the occasional emergency and the chance of a surgery gone bad, which provides a sometimes LONG day for him. He loves his job and the people he works with and is feeling more and more comfortable every day with his improvement. He is on call one day a week (this month it's Friday) and one weekend a month. Lately he's been spending a lot of extra time with the National Guard as they're preparing for deployment at the end of the summer. Luckily, Jesse has the choice to whether he wants to go or not because his enlistment ends in February. YAY. As for now, he has decided not to go. In his "spare time", he works in the yard, making sure there aren't any dandelions or weeds invading and going shooting. I'm glad he has a hobby!
As for Klo...she keeps us going. She's almost 3 and is so excited for her birthday. Every day is a new adventure with her. She's my little best friend. Let me share some of her charm:
*Kloe sitting on McKenzie's lap after church (both have skirts on)
Kloe: You have scruffies. They're hurting my bum.

*Jesse gets called to the hospital and as he's walking out the door, I say, "I love you!" He doesn't hear me.
Kloe: That means he doesn't like you.

I wish I had written more down because everyday she comes up with something hysterical. She still doesn't sleep in her own bed, but don't worry-the bed gets good use. Her babies are all lined up with blankets covering them, much like the grandparents on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
She is such a big help. She loves to fold the rags, do dishes and dust. Lately she's been faithful about writing to Gertch and Gramma Hoo-need-uh (Juanita). She loves sending letters and receiving them.
Earlier this month she decided she was going to write her name. Of course it's not too hard, but I was still proud and excited for her. Now it's written all over everything!

As for me, I'm just keeping the house clean, the dog fed, sometimes cooking dinner, keeping up with my calling as secretary in the YW, and enjoying the springtime. I love this time of year where everything seems renewed. Tractors driving by, tulips popping up in the front yard, a little baseball, and a little sunshine. I recently started working towards my Personal Progress and I'm excited to reach my goals and try new things.

As for now, I had better get my batootie in bed. Maybe next time I will have some pictures. I am making no promises.
