Yellowstone

So, I'm being lazy and don't have a ton of time to blog (we're moving TODAY!) but I won't have the internet for who knows how long, so I thought I would throw some pictures on from our last-minute 3 day trip to Yellowstone/Big Springs/Grand Targhee National Forest/Jackson Hole. You might want to start from the bottom of the blog because it's posted backwards. Enjoy your virtual tour of Yellowstone!

Jenny Lake (just outside of Jackson Hole)

Fishing Bridge...

This man came up to us and told us how he used to fish here before it was banned. He got shoulder to shoulder with me and said that was how close the fishermen stood. (See above pictures)

These bucks were right on the side of the road!

Coyote on the rocks

The "Big, bad wolf" (black dot)

I thought this sign was hilarious!

So we thought we were going on a 1 mile hike to Fairy Falls, but it ended up being 5.2 miles. Ugh.

But the wild raspberries made the hike worth it.

A pika. I guess back in the day they were trapped for their fur. A very friendly animal.

A woodpecker doing its thing.

Some sweet spider webs!

mmm...I love me a bacteria mat.

Left the next morning EARLY...got in the park around 6:30 AM. The fog was thick, making it hard to see anything for a few hours.

Then "camped" a few miles outside of West Yellowstone IN OUR CRV. Not very comfy, but free.

So, this post is backwards...we left Monday evening and stopped at Big Springs to see some trout.
